Brest vs Valenciennes prediction (1x2)

Brest – Valenciennes After comfortable win at Red Star, 3-0, Brest is leading the table with 7 points, due to a better goal difference than the other 3 teams who accumulated also 7 points. Surprisingly, they meet a poor Red Star in 3rd round and had no mercy taking a clear and un-doubtable win. With captain Gourgi in good shape, Brest dominated the middle of the pitch, creating good chances to score and defending very well. Even Brest changed a lot in defensive compartment, coach Furlan made miracles in a short time, letting the impression they are playing together since years. They had the ball for most of the time, taking initiative from the start in front of a team who play totally different football compared with previous season. They killed the game with 2 goals scored in the end of first half, both goals came after some defensive errors. In second half they made a step back letting red Star to take control but having no problems in defense. More over, Brest scored third goal thanks to a counterattack. Brest seems to be now a rejuvenated team under Furlan and for sure worth to keep an eye on this team to see in they will be able to be involved in promotion battle (remember though they took 4 points in first two rounds with plenty of luck). Valenciennes is also a team who weren’t defeated yet and also didn’t concede a single goal in all 4 games played so far (3 in championship and one in cup …against Brest 0-0). Valenciennes had a difficult schedule so far but managed 2 goalless draw against top team Sochaux (on the road) and Reims (at home) after a clear win 2-0 over Clermont in opening round. Good fact of course they are defending well and not allowed too many chances to score to their opponents. Bad one… the team is not scoring. Is true they lost on of the striker Ndao, but still they have good finishers who are in a deep sleep in this period. Perquis with some problems against Reims was recovered but Diarra remains side lined. These two played last week against each other in Coupe de la Ligue game. Was a 0-0 with Brest wining after penalties kicks. Still now perhaps will be different, cause in that game Furlan rotated in many positions while Valenciennes used first team. Valenciennes remained a good team when playing away as per previous season. Even Furlan made some miracles in this debut of the season I see Valenciennes snatching a point here. gl
