Valenciennes - Clermont   After two consecutive wins, Valenciennes lost 0 -2 away at Nimes, in some cruel circumstances for them. A red card saw by Ntim in first minute, made their life impossible against a very peevish team like Nimes is in front of their fans. Their display wasn’t changed too much, cause anyway they came here to defend and to have demolishing counterattack. Is true playing in 10 for all game is much more difficult but they did a good game till 65 mins. Conceding twice in 3 minutes was too much for a young team. They tried to comeback, had some good counterattacks but another red card saw by Ciss put an end to their hopes. Ntim and Ciss will miss here.   Clermont put an end to their hopes for promotion, Saturday when hosting Dijon, eventually lost 2-3 after a superb game. Lot of goals and another great chances of goal, interesting evolution of the score, a 1HT/2 FT a game which every fan can see more and more. At 2-2 they missed 2 incredible chances, one thru Diedhiou alone at 6-7 m from buts and with that for sure their hopes for top 3. Cause even are only 4 points to recover, with this ups and downs is difficult to believe they will overcome LeHavre, Metz or Red Star. Remains now to see how they will cope in the remaining games, especially on the road when they will play against relegation threatened teams: Valenciennes, Laval, Sochaux. Ekobo got an injury and perhaps will miss till the end of the season.   Here another difficult game to judge. For sure Valenciennes needs point in order to have a relaxed finish of the season. With only 5 points more than 1st relegation spot all is possible. With quite a difficult schedule Valenciennes must take at least one point from every matches. Clermont still hopes but I really believe the 4 points handicap will be bit difficult to recover. Playing a lot against relegation threatened teams will Clermont have no mercy against? Keeping in mind no so good results Valenciennes taken at home but also Clemont not excelling on the road, the draw is perhaps the most possible outcome. gl
