Italy have also performed well so far in Euro 2016, and gave a really strong performance in the round of 16 to get an impressive 2-0 victory over Spain. Here for this quarter-final match I expect a close competitive game, with both teams having strong ability and good recent form, and while arguably Germany may have the slight edge in attack when playing at their best, I think a case can be made for Italy having the slight edge in defence, particularly considering that Italy have faced the more difficult opposition so far in the competition. Italy have good form in past competitive matches against Germany in recent European Championships and World Cups, so Italy may have a slight psychological advantage potentially, however Germany should still be well prepared, and Italy have to make sure not to be over-confident.
