Gent hosts Shakhtar in round 4 of the Europa league, group H. Shakhtar is leading the group with 9 points while Gent is second with 4 points. The goal difference for Shakhar is 8:0 while Gent has 3:6. Gent was beaten badly by Shakhtar in the last round by 5:0 and we could say Shakhtar is just to good at home but I think it is more like big quality difference is in play. Even is Gent is playing at home I think they will struggle against Shakhtar. Shakhtar missed out on the Champions League this season and I think they decided to give a real go and do something great in Europa again. They played the semi-finals last year and were eliminated by Sevilla so we can say they have huge experience at this level. Coach Fonseca finally set the pieces together well and Shakhtar has been rampant. They lead the leaague by a mile and score plenty of goals as well. Gent has a good run in Europa this season and at home won some matches. The quality of the opponents was on the other hand not great: Vitorul 5:0, Shkendija 2:1, Konyaspor 2:0. And we can go year back and find out they have beaten some other low quality teams. Gent is not doing good in the league and lost 3 of the last 5 matches. They play well at home though and have a good run going. Recently they beaten Standard 1:0 but it was not a great game of football. There were little chances created and Gent scored from their only shot on frame. There is nothing great to be said about the level of performance. Shaktaar already showed to be to much for Gent to handle. They can win this. Shakhtar is without Kovalenko and V. Shevchuk, while Gent is without Matton and Kujovic.
