Clermont vs Red Star (Asian Handicap) prediction

Clermont – Red Star The biggest game of the round here with Clermont hosting Red Star in a duel for 3rd spot, last who assure promotion in Ligue 1. Clermont is coming after 2 good games against teams involved in promotion battle Metz and Lens and being undefeated. Against Metz they won with some luck, scoring in 83mins the winning goal, in a full Metz domination period. Friday nights they made an open and attacking game against Lens, maybe one of the nicest game from Ligue 2 I’ve saw lately. Both played on attack, both missing a lot of chances – i.e. Lens had 3 posts- so we can conclude was a fair draw after all. Of course both teams have motives to be upset but keeping in mind the results from previous round, when big teams lost on line, is OK this point for both., Surprisingly top scorer of Ligue 2 wasn’t a starter in this game, playing only in last 30 mins when Clermont finished with 3 strikers. Being in “Spotlight” lately, with 3 games live on Eurosport, Red Star seems not to feel better. And at least other two will come live. First one will be, of course, against Clermont. In last 2 games they lost same score 0-2 against2 teams who fight for promotion spot. Now again they meet another team of same caliber and with same ambitions. Against Auxerre they were quite poor, but this only because Auxerre made an excellent game, letting them no chance for score or win the game. Is true they had 2 important missing in defense that seems to produce some mess, Guirassy – Auxerre striker- making what h want in this game, being by far the best man of the game. Despite these 2 defeats they are still on 3rd spot, but this thanks to false steps made also by other teams involved in promotion battle. Good news for them both Palun and Fournier, who missed in previous game, are fit so they will be with all squad available. I really think once again it’s a crazy odds for an away win. Red Star lost only 2 games on the road: one at the beginning of the championship after they were promoted and one in lat trip in some critical circumstances: played for more than 70 min in 10 against one of the best tem in the league, but even so put a lot of problems upfront. Red Star is a difficult team to beat, a team who keep the ball for long period of time and really I see Clermont having enough problems against this “atypical” – for league 2- team. Back Red Star to collect all points, taking but AH0+ with return of the stake in case of draw. gl
