Leeds vs Port Vale prediction

After just falling short of play-offs last season, Leeds showed that they’re once again up for it this season as they won 3-2 away at Bolton on Sunday. Port Vale, who were relegated to England’s fourth tier at the end of last season, also made a winning start to the season when beating Crawley 3-1 away from home on Saturday. Leeds did look a tad shaky at the back. They’ve lost Kyle Bartey (df 45/6) while Pontus Janssen is out suspended. Mathew Pennington and Lewis Cooper are certainly able replacements at the heart of the back four but it’s hard to say they’re as solid as the former partnership. Port Vale in scoring three goals at the weekend and, as they scored in all of their away pre-season matches, can threaten here. Leeds could easily make a few changes here. Rob Green is likely to start in goal while Vernon Anita is likely to start having replaced the injured Gaetano Berardi on Sunday. Mathew Pennington also went off with a knock on Sunday and so is likely to be rested here. Port Vale aren't known to have an fresh injury concerns and so potentially they could be at full strength.
